Smt. Thapi Devi resides in a village Sundungra located in Uttarakhand, India. She is an abandoned woman. Smt. Thapi Devi has a mentally challenged daughter. She used to work as a daily wage and made a living. Due to which she had to face many challenges in daily life. In view of the status of Smt. Thapi Devi by Integrated livelihood support project in the year 2015-16, she was selected for goat rearing in Income-earning activity. She was provided with a grant of Rs 18,000/- with which 4 goats and 1 Billy goat were purchased by her. From 2017-18, Smt. Thapi Devi was educated with technical information by SUVIDHA Organization. After which goat rearing was made their main business. Smt. Thapi devi expressed in her words that “I no longer work as a laborer”. I do the work of feeding and looking after my goats. When I need money, I sell my goat and fulfill the needs. From her experience she advised that “If we use small capital properly, then the same capital strengthens us and supports us in future”. Smt. Thapi Devi is happy with this collaboration of the project and she express her gratitude to all project personnel.
