Climate-Smart Agriculture (Sustainable Agriculture)
SUVIDHA promotes Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) by supporting farmers to adopt sustainable and resilient farming practices that improve productivity while conserving natural resources
Sustainable Agriculture is an approach to farming that balances productivity, environmental conservation, and community well-being to ensure long-term food security and livelihood enhancement. It promotes the efficient use of natural resources such as soil, water, and biodiversity while minimizing the adverse impacts of climate change and excessive chemical inputs. Through practices such as organic farming, crop diversification, agroforestry, water conservation, and integrated nutrient management, sustainable agriculture improves soil fertility, enhances water-use efficiency, and strengthens farmers' resilience to changing climatic conditions. By adopting sustainable farming methods, rural communities can increase agricultural productivity, reduce cultivation costs, protect ecosystems, and create more secure and prosperous livelihoods for future generations.

What We Do
Our Key Interventions
Integrated, community-led approaches to water security, soil health, and climate-resilient livelihoods.
Organic Farming & Soil Health Management - Organic farming promotion, certification, vermi-composting, organic fertilizers, soil testing, and soil conservation practices.
Water Resource Management & Climate-Resilient Irrigation - Drip and sprinkler irrigation, rainwater harvesting, check dams, groundwater recharge, and solar-powered irrigation systems.
Climate-Smart Crop Production - Climate-resilient agriculture, crop diversification, integrated farming systems, and sustainable crop cultivation.
Agroforestry & Horticulture Development - Orchard development, tree-based farming systems, agroforestry, and biodiversity conservation.
Farmer Capacity Building & Institutional Strengthening - Farmer training, exposure visits, technical advisory services, micro-farm planning, and strengthening farmer groups/institutions.
Natural Resource Management & Watershed Development - Community-led conservation of land, water, and ecosystem resources through watershed and landscape-based approaches.
Sustainable Livelihoods & Market Linkages - Income enhancement, value-chain development, convergence with government schemes, and improved market access for farmers.
